4BT 64 gmc

Anyone done a 4BT in a 60-66 chev or gmc? Was reading on stovebolt forums about it looks very interesting seems the 4l80 tranny is best for application? 700r4 and 400t. Would have to beef up to take it. Any major issues with the swap??

Re: 4BT 64 gmc

Depends if you want a overdrive or not and the torque convertor will have to be for the diesel but most trans shops can say what to use.I have seen 700r4s used beefed up and a turbo 400 will work if you don't care about a overdrive gear. But honestly all of them will take a adapter kit to use and the 4l80e takes a controler to use also. For the crossmember and motor mounts http://www.cumminsdieselrepowers.com/ between them and http://www.destroked.com/ they got a lot of the big stuff you need. The rest your on your own for like exhaust and the plumbing.
