67-87 BBC Hooker Super Comp headers 2WD

Hooker Super Comp headers #2826, will fit all 67-87 2WD pickups, Blazers, and Suburbans equipped with a big block.

These are in great shape with only a few minor dings here and there and have been painted black by the PO.

I have only run Hooker headers in all my trucks and have never had any leakage or any problems whatsoever, they are well made and have a great ruputation.

Thanks - Jeff

I like the Comps better than the Super Comps for two reasons;
They are made of thicker tubing (last longer) and are MUCH cheaper.
I have been running them for 5 years now and no leaks so far.

good point, but the super comps WILL perform better...which is why i upgraded. I have had regular comp headers and love them but my new engine is making much more power than the SB and I want to get as much power as possible, besides, I got my new SC for the same price as regular comps (can't complain). The headers I am trying to sell in the auction I have the reserve set at regular comp price (very fair IMO).

Here is a c/p from Hookers site...

Hooker Super Competition Headers are the best header available and always will be... but if Hooker Competition Headers fit your needs, it's the world's best buy!
Once Hooker Headers removed just a few of the constraints normally put on their designers when they design a Super Competition header they are able to build a Competition header for a lot less. When the objective became to make the world's second best header they found the cost could be cut in half. The Hooker Competition header is almost as good as a Super Competition at a very good price. Competition headers were designed for the value conscious buyer with the stock to mildly modified engine.

Hooker Competition Headers are made from durable 16-gauge material; it welds easier and will last longer under certain extreme climatic conditions, Competition headers are finished with a heat cured, high heat resistant black paint, or optionally with Hookers Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating.

Nope.......my headers are listed by Hooker to fit my 1984 2-wd .
They fit good but you are going to have to get around that trans crossmember on the driver's side.
I went over mine for more road clearance.

Jeff,
I will concede that if it is the maximum amount power you are after.....then go with Supers.
Hooker makes them out of thinner metal so they weigh less.
Less weight/more power and so on.
This is kinda like saying one Rolls Royce is better than the other.
BTW........Whats up with you and a Reserve?
You make more money without one.

Well, if you don't have a resere and the bidding doesn't get that high, you could potentially get very little money for the item you are selling. On the flip side, if you go no reserve and start the bidding out high, you might not get very many bids since most people are looking for bargains. What i have found works best is setting a reserve and start the bidding out low...in almost all my auctions there has been a bidding war and I have met my reserve plus more. We will see on these headers, typically exhaust parts seem to sell harder since most people are worried about the condition, especially if used. Besides, I got a good deal on them and i just want back what i have in them...not too worried about making money on these.

Also, the SC I have, the tube size I wanted was not available in the comp...not only are the SC lighter, but they have bigger dia tubes for better flow/performance.

Jeff,
It may just be me but I don't even bid on things with reserves as I feel it is not a true auction.

I guess I just get lucky as I just sold a cam kit with no reserve for $27 OVER retail!
This is about the 10th time that has happened too.

Oh yeah.....I agree that SC's are "better-tuned" for lack of a better word. Seems Hooker puts more time into their design.

Good luck on your auction,
Mike
