Steering noise

Against my better judgment I took my 2001 Tahoe in a GM dealer to have the heater core replaced. They had to drop the steering column to pull dash to get heater core out. NOW-- with vehicle running I turn steering wheel to right or left just a little and I hear a noise like something rolling--- Any ideas?

Re: Steering noise

How loud is it? What kind of roll sound is it exactly? All they did was disconnect the I-shaft and drop it down. The only thing rolling is bearings in the column. I honestly don't think there's anything they did that would cause this issue. That's no easy job on those for a heater core lol.
