Opinions on this 65

Went to look at this 65 today, on the fence about it. All original two owner 65 half ton. Overall pretty solid compared to ones I’ve seen lately but beat up. The rockers are very solid, cab corners have some small pin holes in them, one support has a soft spot, and the passenger side floor (pictures) is soft and has some holes. Also the bottom of the back of the cab has some rust in it too. Bed imo is shot, but real solid inner fenders and fender bottoms. It runs but needs a tune and carb work along with the brakes gone through. He’s between 12-1500 but it’s negotiable and I’ve bought from him before. Good title. But I’m on the fence as to what a good offer is. I was debating offering him about 700 for it. What do you guys think?

I'd pay 12-1500 for that. In fact, if you don't want it....lol

Re: Opinions on this 65

I was thinking $7-900 for it. Are you gonna part it or fix it?

Most likely drive it just to get it back on the road for a bit then decide it’s permanent future...have too many of them anyway lol

It looks like grampa took great care of it for years, and then his grandchildren abused it.

I say if you have too many already then just forget about it. Looks like its maybe got one fender, and a hubcap left to salvage

Re: Opinions on this 65

Although she sure has some battle scars, that sure looks like one unmolested original truck. Obvious that someone took care of it for most of it's life. In today's day and age trucks like that are getting few and far between. If the interior is just as original and decent as the rest of the truck, and it runs good as you say, i'd pay $1000 and put it back on the road. Some creative use with an additional thousand dollars and about a months worth of spare time and she could be a fairly decent looking reliable second vehicle again. One you could actually use as intended, and one of the very few left on the road still being used as such, left uncut and butchered. That's a good old girl there.........

Re: Opinions on this 65

I think the $700.00 offer is the way to go...WAY WAY too many body panels messed up, and rust is going to be everywhere once you start making metal repairs (if you do..).

$1200-1500 is too much. If you ever wanted to sell it, you might loose on it...

It's just a very plain Chevy pickup, not much else going for it.
