power steering conversion.. which pitman arm?

Hello everyone!
I am doing a power steering upgrade on a 69 GMC C15 that currently has a manual box. has 350 v8

I have the pump, hoses, and gear box from an 82, bracket and mounts for the 69. What I am trying to determine is which pitman arm do I use, one for an 82, or one for the 69?

besides that pitman arm, is there anything else i need to get this done that i havent considered?

thanks in advance!

Re: power steering conversion.. which pitman arm?

It’s been a while, but I think the pitman arms are the same. If not, then I know the output splines on the power boxes didn’t change. So a 69 power steering pitman arm would work on a newer box.

Re: power steering conversion.. which pitman arm?

I converted my 69 C-10 from manual to power using a box from an 87 model. I purchased a new pitman arm for a 69 PS truck and it bolted onto the 87 box. Hope this helps.
