Gold 69

I have a question about a 69 C-10 that my son found in the classifieds.
It’s the same color Gold that was on the 68 “50th Anniversary Editions”.
We’re they a carryover, or did the factory just decide to keep the color?
He’s going to look at it this weekend, and if everything checks out, we’ll be adding another truck to the stable

Re: Gold 69

Most likely Saddle poly . 551 wasn’t offered in 69 - but it could have a special order paint like my 72 . No paint code on the spid or build sheet had it checked with a paint gun and it comes out as Placer Gold a car color

Re: Gold 69

Interesting
Thanks for the responses.
I wouldn’t even consider buying this truck, but judging from the pictures, other than some minor unfinished work done to the doors, it’s never been molested.
All of the paint stick markings ar on the firewall, and it still has th factory points in it. I’ll get a better “look” Sunday when my son goes to put eyes on it.

Re: Gold 69

The goldish colors are hard to pin down. They look different in different light. Almost have to put Saddle and Medium Gold together to tell them apart. Just look at both pictures above of the same color. Medium Gold fades to look darker and more brownish, like Saddle. I had a Medium Gold Poly '70 and an Adobe gold '84. Often, going over the scales they would mark me down as the brown truck
