Tag under VIN door tag

Is the manufacturer tag under the VIN tag required for a VIN inspection? Mine was removed for painting and it's too damaged to install.

Re: Tag under VIN door tag

I wouldn't expect an inspector to care about that tag. It contains no vehicle ID information.

Re: Tag under VIN door tag

agree - as long as the numbers are on the other tag, you're good. ASSUMING the painter didn't remove that one also for paint and then reinstall with pop rivets... It should have rosette head rivets to be legal.
