4L80e Parking Pawl spring

I had the pan off my 4L80e today to change the leaking harness. In order to get the harness out I had to take the plate off that holds the parking pawl in. The black spring fell out, and I looked all over the Internet for a picture of how it goes back in, no luck. I assume the loop goes around the post on the passenger side of the case and the J-end goes around the pawl itself? So I tried that and now after getting it all back together, the pawl won't engage in Park.

Does anyone have a photo or diagram of how this spring is supposed to be installed? TIA.

If the pawl will not engage then you may have the rod in the wrong place. I don't think the setup is different from a T400. You did put the linkage back in?

Yes, I put the linkage in. I used this photo to determine how to do that.

Note that my trans has an extra piece of metal that is above the one shown. It has the same mounting holes and has a flange that butts up against the electrical connector that goes through the case, ostensibly to hold it in place. This trans was a Jasper unit, maybe that's something they add.
