Will a 72 window reg, work in 67-71 doors?

they will work but you know that 72 regulators stick out futher because of the plastic door skins.

Hey Randy, What Rod said. The regulators are specific to the panels for 72. 71 back are the same because of the flat panels, plastic or steel. Do you need a 71 back? I have one but don't remember which side. Sending you a PM also.

Thanks guys I thought that was the only difference, I got a 72 one on Ebay and said it would fit 67-71, now a guy emailed and told me I was full of it that it wouldn't. I wanted to clarify before I email him back. Thanks Randy

I took one of these apart one time and I figure if the actual shaft is the only different part then you could probably drill out the rivets that hold the cover onto the shaft and drive gear housing and swap the shorter shaft from a worn out unit ( it's actually seperate from the drive gear) then just rivet or bolt back together. I haven't tried it yet myself but I suspect it would work.
Oh yes there is some real spring load on these things so watch your fingers if you try taking one apart. Don't get em in the wrong place at the wrong time.
