Just parts or get the hole truck?
Working on the startup of a AD to S10 chassis build. So get the hole truck or just get the parts that will be needed? Seems sad to take just some parts and sell off the rest.

Re: Just parts or get the hole truck?
I am going to assume you are talking about the AD. I always look for complete trucks (both the project and the donor) because all the little things that are needed add up fast. Being able to sell off or scrap un-used parts to recover some of the expense of the build is always a plus.

Re: Just parts or get the hole truck?
I agree you would be suprised what you can get for the parts you won't use. I more than recoverd the cost of my doner S10 just by selling off unused parts.
Also keep in mind that scrap value for metal is up. (in this area anyway) I had a 1992 GMC Safari van that had a bad motor a few months ago. It had electrical problems sliding door was shot, broken door latches, headliner falling down. I could not even get $50.00 for it on craigs list. I took it to a metal salvage place and got $370.00 for it. It weighed 4200 lbs.
