Wow, that looks great. I can't get over how low it sits to the ground.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Thanks! The wheels and tires came in Friday I'm anxious to get those mounted and on the front to see where it falls out. I'm a little nervous it might be lower than I want, be we'll just have see.

There are seven bed strips, so it should be eight boards. Mar-K in Oklahoma City has some nice lumber kits if you want a wood bed floor.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Hoping to get the tires mounted to the wheels and check for clearance issue. I went with a 10'' wide rear wheel and plan to mini tub the bed.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Finally got a set of header's that I think will work with the new steering column and power rack locations. These are the 3rd set luckily Summit has a great return policy.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Test fit the bed yesterday and the wheels and tires almost cleared without a mini tub. If I would have worked the offset they would have cleared, but with very limited room. I think I'm better off with a 3'' tub in the bed for clearance.

Love the look of the new wheels and tires; are those American Racing wheels? what's your plan as to the radio antenna? I've had issues with the "hidden antennas", so much interference.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

do you have a plan for the mini tubs? if fabbing yourself you might think of using a steel trailer fender, they are 16ga steel and come in a 9" width usually so you could get both sides done from a single fender. cut the correct width from each side and fill the center part, where the wheels go, with some sheet 16ga. just a thought.
your project is looking good. love the wheel/paint combo.

I assume like many of us, you'll lower the truck some, are you going to C notch the back end with lowered spindles up front? looks very nice

Mr. T-moss

Looking great - strong work

What are the spec's on the rims and tires. They sure look fine.

Thanks in advance

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

The wheels are 17 x 7 front and 17 x 9.5 rear. I went with Ridler 635 wheels I purchased them through B&B wheel. I have lowered the truck, but haven't adjusted the coil overs yet. I not sure about C-Notch yet until the ride height is adjusted. I'm running a 2'' drop spindle in the front and the TCI 4 link in the rear with double adjustable shocks front and back.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Currently installing the new wiring harness and power steering hoses. They shipped standard black rubber hoses so I opted to send them back and found some braided stainless steel hoses just for appearance. The radiator support is in and radiator is installed. I will be posting some more pictures Friday or Saturday.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Mr. T

Thanks for the data on the rims they sure look good. What size tires are they.
And would you please measure from the front end, bottom of the frame to the concrete, then do the same at the rear end.

Just when you have time, that info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance Nut Case
