Houston area blazers?

I finally have decided to start on my 72 blazer, 6 years after buying it! It in decent shape and I drive it from time to time but now want to do a proper restoration.

I want to pull the original 350 out and replace with a crate motor. I have never pulled an engine before, in your experience, is it worth it to do yourself, or just pay to have it done? I know my way around a motor, but it is little daunting to me. Anybody know a good guy to install if I go that route and what is the cost of install.

Ive been lurking on this for years and finally taking the plunge..
