Rear K5 seat converted to lounge chair

Thinking of making my rear seat into a chair setup for my pole barn. Use some 4x4's and block it up the right hieght. What have you guy's used to clean up the original material, and soften up some of the brittleness? My seat is not cracked yet, but it is really close. I think it will make a real cool seat for the pole barn, any ideas?
