Brake Hose Hardware Question

What is the "official" name and/or source of supply for the stamped steel nut that holds the front flexible brake hose onto the frame rail? It is 15/16 in size.

I cannot find it anywhere...

Thanks!!!

Barry

Re: Brake Hose Hardware Question

It must be a newer truck. All my trucks have a clip to hold the hose in.

Re: Brake Hose Hardware Question

I think he's talking about the nuts that bolt through the frame. You could always try buying a stainless kit and using the bolts to source the replacements and take back.

Re: Brake Hose Hardware Question

He is talking about the 4x4 front brake hoses that have a threaded end on them and go through the frame. They use a nut to fasten them to the frame. I used a regular nut to fasten mine. I just put grease on the threads so you can get it off later. I have not found any source for the original style nut.

Do you remember the specs on the nuts you used? I would be good with that since they would be less flimsy.

Thanks,

Barry

Re: Brake Hose Hardware Question

Sorry I don't have the specs on them because I didn't buy them I just dug around in my left over hardware pile. Napa description shows the end to be 5/8" x 18 thread don't know if that is correct but that is what they show.

Re: Brake Hose Hardware Question

If you google Jam Nuts you'll find several different heights and dimensions across the flats.
