Aftermarket leaf spring width issue

Building my 71 K10 and had a set of Tuff Country 4" springs fall into my lap. Got my new Energy Suspension Poly bushings but they are for stock applications. Stock springs are 3" wide mine are 2.5". Called Tuff Country they said these are correct for my application but didn't have specs/dimensions on their part #91100 (poly bushings) Are theirs wider? Problem is there is 1/2" play on each side that's not right. Can I just get some heavy duty material and use 2- 1/4" shims on each side to fix? Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Aftermarket leaf spring width issue

I'm sure others will reply with some more definite answers, but I believe that 67-68 trucks had narrower springs than the 69-72's. But with that said my first 72 4x4 had 2 spacers just like what your talking about, so I'd say yes it can be done.

Now let's hear what others have to say !
