I heard that 1947-1959 chevrolet 3/4 ton spindles will mount on a 1946 chevrolet truck. So I can run disk brakes on the front axle.

Wow, no replies? I am in the process of doing this same project. I will keep you posted and give you a parts list once I make it all work together.

do you mean 1/2 ton instead of 3/4 ton? there are no brake kits for the 3/4 ton trucks, unless you make your own, but there kits for the 1/2 ton. In fact I swapped out the 3/4 axle front axle for a 1/2 so I can run a 5x4.75 disc brake kit. From what I've been told the axles are the same from 41-59, or at least the disc brake kits work for all those years, with only 1 difference.....when they switched to bendix brakes the lower hole on the spindle ears were enlarged from 7/16" to 1/2".

41-54 are the same axle 55-59 are the same. The spindles are close enough for the disc kits on 41 -59
