So do I buy a new wiper transmission (repop) from one of the vendors or do I search for a used OEM unit? Opinions? Ready? begin.

I bought a standard unit from Chevy Duty a few months ago, and was very disappointed how cheap it seemed. But I modified it to turn 1/2" spindles so I could run newer arms. I spent days looking through every arm on the market before I found something short enough to work. I ended up adapting the 1/2" adapters to the stock 1/4" spindles, which just broke today due to the extreme spring tension on the blade arms.

This time I bought the most expensive transmission offered by Ecklers ($117), and am going back to the stock small 1/4" sprindles and drive adapters. I'm confident this will work great, although I will be shopping for stronger springs to install in the stock arms to insure the blades will stay down on the glass at freeway speeds.
