Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

Here's my newest project a1990 v2500. It's sitting on a 8" ProComp lift running 35" BFG AT's. I plan on swapping in 12 valve cummins and a NV4500 along with alot of other small mods here and there.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

Just about done with my Lift/tires and axle swap. 4 inch rough Country lift with 36 inch Humvee tires with 3/4 ton axles (14FF/10GM). Been a long time in coming. Just need to finish up the brakes and she'll be ready to go. And apparently the wife says I gotta paint those wheels......I don't get it lol

Wow, you got a nice one. Or did you repaint it? Lift looks good.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

Thanks Bruiser. She's alright, not beat on like most CUCVs were. But she's got some typical rust issues coming to the surface that need to be addressed. The previous owner replaced the outer rockers and did a repaint. I'll probably start a build thread on it.

I've owned her for about 3 1/2 years now and have used her as my daily driver . I didn't want to deal with the hokeyness that can be GovLiq so I found a guy in Indiana who had already done all the paperwork. She was DRMO'd out of you're neck of the woods at Redstone Arsenal in 2009. But at one point she was out of Camp Perry, Ohio. which helps explain the rust. She's been reliable but things are starting to wear out: Starter, Vacuum pump , both alternators, harmonic balancer. So it's time for some TLC and PM.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

My current project, an '87 V20 Suburban originally from Oregon, now in Maine. Recently swapped a 90 Suburban radiator support and grill. Also swapped in a low mileage tbi350, hydro-boost brake system, sm465, and np205 from an '89 V30 and a dana 60/corp 14 bolt with 4.65 gears and a Detroit locker in the 14 bolt. Also did crossover-steering when the axles were installed.

She's a work in progress, hoping to be a fun little back roads cruiser/mild wheeler. Currently sitting on a 6in lift with 37in Nittos/Toyos on KMD Diesel wheels. I have a 3in body lift and a set of 40s that I am still debating whether I want to install or not.

Lots of useful information here! Thanks for sharing!

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

...and here is why I spend hours surfing Craigslist.

1990 V-1500 91K original one owner miles. I just drove it 75 MPH with cruise set all the way 25 miles home.

some typical kansas rust, but a solid old truck. Gonna do new wheels, level up the sagging rear end and a spruce up and flip it.

I gave that one some consideration. It was up for like a month or so, started at like 4500 or 5k. Looked like I waited too long! Good buy.
