03 avy fan clutch

is there a way to check the fan clutch on this truck?? i shut it off and could easily turn the fan, is it suppose to do that? btw its a 5.3.

It depends, you should be able to set at idle with ac and all on and then shut it off and it shouldn't spin very easy at all. If you can spin it and it free wheels it is most likely bad, if it free wheels after driving and shutting it off it's usually normal. The clutches in these trucks are designed to free wheel most the time.
