Gas tank filler neck mod/swap

Hey guys, has anyone bought a new metal gas tank kit, which I believe most or all come with the wrong filler neck attached? I want to swap my old filler neck on the new tank. Has anyone done this that can give me some pointers or suggestions on how best to do this?

I took the tank and the filler neck to a shop and he welded it on. Didn't cost much. It has two bolts so no worries on orientation. Looks like the original is bolted and then maybe leaded.

It's soldered on with soft solder....remove the nuts and heat it up.....it will come right off.
clean both surfaces well....remove any paint or rust that might be on the new tank...apply a generous amount of flux and solder it back on.....or take it to a radiator shop....they can do it.

I got my tank from a place here in Texas called Lone Star Car Parts. It is labeled as a Counterpart...seems pretty nice quality

" where did you get your tank? "

I got my tank from a nice guy here on this board. He put a new everything in his blazer and decided to go with a brand new tank. His old tank was fine, but he took the filler neck off it. So I found another guy here with a filler neck for sale and bought that.
