Brake Light Stopped Working ABS Park Light ON

2000 Silverado
two days ago i started the truck, the yellow ABS, and red Brake light came on the dash when i started the truck. I had no brake lights out back. I Drove it home with the flashers on. Next time i started the truck the dash lights did not come back on but i still do not have brake lights. The bulbs are only 3 months old at max, but I took the bulbs out and checked them and they light up when plugged into the blinker socket. I checked the 10amp fuse on the side of the dash panel it was good. Where do i go from here?

Re: Brake Light Stopped Working ABS Park Light ON

I removed the electric brake control module EBCM from under the cab on the frame rail than took it to a buddies truck and plugged it into his silver ado, his truck still had brake lights with my EBCM so by elimination i concluded mine must be good, (or at least not the problem source) i returned it back to my truck.

Under the hood there is a red 10A fuse that does not have power both when brake is pressed or released, supposedly this is fuse location #17 and is located just under fuse #14 a Yellow 20A. (info source: internet search) Apparently the 10A should have power.

Does anyone out there have experience with this?

Re: Brake Light Stopped Working ABS Park Light ON

Are you sure its not the Brake switch on the brake pedal causing the no tail lights?

Also check the 4 way junction block under the bed near the tail gate on the driver side. These are a known source of lamp issues.

If you could get some abs codes out of it that might also be helpful

Re: Brake Light Stopped Working ABS Park Light ON

It was the tail lights /cruise control harness under the dash causing the them not to light up.
