Got the H2 Rims on my '86 C20

Got the H2 rims put on my C20, along with the 255/75/17s off of my old burban. Fit like a glove (still hubcentric, and perfect backspacing).

Some before and after shots:

What do y'all think?

Cal30 Sniper, what lug nuts did you use for this? I also picked up some H2 wheels but the ones I have found so far I don't want to run. They seem too skinny and not enough contact area.

I just used the factory lug nuts. The H2 rims have a really deep conical dish for the lugs, but they seemed to snug down just fine. Seeing as how they're hubcentric, I wasn't too worried with the lug to wheel interface being perfect. I'll see how they do when I re-torque them in a few hundred.

Find some Chevy centers. You can get SAE lug nuts with the threads on them for the center caps most everywhere, e-bay, tire stores, etc.

Re: Got the H2 Rims on my '86 C20

I've been looking around for the centers already. I just dropped all of my available cash on a Gear Vendors for it though. That's my next project for it.

Finally found some of the 90s style chevy center caps. I'll get them on as soon as the lugs come in.

Re: Got the H2 Rims on my '86 C20

Well, the caps came in today, and they're about 1/16"-1/32" too big in outside diameter. I'm kind of frustrated, I thought they would fit right in. Anyways, looks like I have another date with the dremel tool this week.

Re: Got the H2 Rims on my '86 C20

Looks really tough on the burb. I put hummer wheels on my 87' truck with stock center caps. Don't look bad. I only paid $150 for the set of wheels. Its just my pull truck.

Re: Got the H2 Rims on my '86 C20

Tony, that truck looks pretty sweet. I like the look of the hummer caps on that thing, all business.

Well, after a couple of hours of careful trimming and grinding, I finally got all four of the center caps to fit right. I took a gamble ordering these used off of fleaBay, not knowing whether they originally came off of steel or aluminum wheels. Turns out they were off of steel wheels, and I had to take quite a bit off the outside diameter to get them to fit inside the space on the Hummer wheel. Nothing a little angle grinding couldn't take care of though.

Here's some quick pictures of the finished product that I took:

Thats on the money!!! Those wheels and tires make that burb. Center caps look great. Did you buy conversion lug nuts? I just got another set of Hummer wheels on Cl for $150. Puttin them on my crew in my avatar which is the same color as your burb.

That's going to look great, post some pics up when you're done. Also, if you want some tires for the hummer rims, just look on craigslist for Jeep 17" tires. 255/75/17 is the factory size for a lot of the new wranglers, and there are low-mile takeoffs floating around everywhere.

The lugnuts are 9/16" thread with an external thread. They are actually for Alcoa wheels, or at least that's what the guy I bought them from said. I paid $20 for all 32.
