My '75 K20

Back in August, a friend of mine gave me a '75 K20. It has the 350 V8 with 4 barrel, TH350 auto, NP 203 T-Case, Dana 44, GM Corporate 10.5 14 Bolt rear end. I know it needs a lot of body work, probably cheaper to find a rust free cab, bed, tailgate, and front clip. But I'm wanting to get all of the body work done and try to keep as much of the truck as original as I can. It had the tranny replaced at 60,000 and the truck has 130,000 miles on it. My friend that gave me the truck, his dad was the original owner of the truck and bought it brand new in '75. As time goes on, I'm going to be slowly fixing it up and posting progress pictures of it. Soon I'm going to be getting 315/75R16 BFG All Terrains with US Wheel White spoke wagon wheels in 16X10 with the 4" backspacing. Here in a few years or so put on a 2.5 inch lift with 2 inch lift rear springs. My truck also has the 56" rear springs and 4.10 gears. Eventually I'm going to be doing a gear swap to 4.56 gears. Everyone, please feel free to give me feed back on ideas to fix up my truck and what does, doesn't, did, and didn't work for you.

Re: My '75 K20

Here's my '75 Chevy K20. Right now it doesn't have a lift on it and I'm running 315/75R16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2's, I love them I have US Wheel 16X10 wagon wheels with 4" backspacing. I'm rubbing the inner fender wells some, but not to bad. Eventually I'm going to be lifting the my truck with a Rough Country 2" lift with springs front and rear or use a Skyjacker 2.5" lift and use the Rough Country rear springs. If I Frankenstein the lift, I'll end up using the BDS Fox shocks front and rear. But then again, I might just leave it the height that it is now. Not sure right now. I know that someone mentioned that he had 35's on a rig of his and with the different lifts he had on his, he liked the 2.5" of lift over the taller lifts. I'm almost 6' and I want to make sure that I'm comfortable getting in and out of my own truck as well.

Re: My '75 K20

I'm going to make a correction on my original post, about my truck. I did more measuring and research and found out that my truck actually has the 52" rear springs instead of the 56" rear springs, like I thought it had. I'm going to be using the Skyjacker 2.5" system lift. I might see about modifying it to go ahead and use the 56" springs, not sure right now.
