Re: 68-69 Grill on 72

67-68 grilles need different fenders, core suport, grille, and hood
as far as i know a 69-70 grille would swap right on to a 71-72 no problem

You need a different hood latch/grill support if going to a '69-'70 grill.

Whichever frontend you choose don't forget about a bumper or you'll have extra turn signals.

Or you could leave it and be less likely to get pulled over for a burned out turn signal

Keyword..."front end". You'll be better off swapping the entire front end. Thats just about what it takes anyhow.

to do this youll have to change everything on the front end except the inner fenders. check your bumper and see if it has the cutouts on top for the GMC turn signals, if not, you can use that bumper as well and be corrct

Re: 68-69 Grill on 72

Easiest way to put a 67-68 front clip on a 69-72:

From the 67 or 68, Unbolt the fenders from the cab, and unbolt the radiator support from the frame. Pull as one unit and install as one unit back onto your 72.

67-68 Chevy fenders are the same (except for the lack of a marker light in 67), and the 69-72 Chevy fenders are the same.

For the GMC, the fenders are the same from 67-72 again with the exception of the 67 lacking the marker light. The GMC fenders are the same as the 67-68 Chevy fender.

I know that was just a typo because I know that you know... but it's 69-72 Chevy fenders that are the same not 68. Just didn't want anyone getting confused

Rad support bushings, if you replace them, are different for 67/68 vs. 69-72

Re: 68-69 Grill on 72

67-72 fenders for either brand will work on 67-72 cabs of either brand.

The difference is mainly the very front part of the fender. The contours matching up to the grill are different.

Fairly visible here:

67-68 Chevy

69-70 Chevy

71-72 Chevy

Now, will a 69 hood line up with a 67-68 grille?

Re: 68-69 Grill on 72

No, not without some serious fab work. I'm consider myself pretty good with sheetmetal, but I would not attempt to do the fab work necessary to make that hood/grill combo work.

However there was a 71/72 Blazer running around on Evil Bay
for a while where they sloped the hood like a 67/68. Very
