my 87

Salesman at a local chevy dealer offered me 10k for it when I had the transmission filter changed and new fluid. Just don't think I can part with this truck sometimes even a fair offer means nothing Currently has 68k miles on it. Picture is a couple years ago just happened to be the last picture I had of it cleaned up.

Re: my 87

Very nice man. What are the stats on it?
My 87 was originally the dark blue with grey on the bottom, but at some point someone painted it all dark blue. Eventually when I get the body work done (not too bad cab corners and one rocker) I will paint it back to the original color.

Re: my 87

stats?

nothing really to mention just an original old truck anything I do to it I very do as a restoration such as my restored manifolds post.

It is a optioned truck dual tanks etc with 3.42's known the truck for years and finally was able to buy it only mods is the dual flow master super 44's exhaust. (which is was original was done before I bought it)

runs on 32x11.50's

but really anything I've done to this truck has been no expense spared I had the original harrison radiator re-cored that was $584 I believe? i also had the original harrison heater core re-cored at the same time $200 something?

all hoses etc NOS replacements etc, i've bought nos grills, head lights bezels, original strip! YES i have probably the only original full set left in this color in the US! i ordered it in pieces years ago throughout dealers across the states was over $700 total.

I also have 2 NOS dashes stored away for this baby. Once it's ever repainted I plan to replace these pieces and have a real sharp one. I have too much invested in this truck lol

Re: my 87

Mine has 3.08's and had a gov bomb in it from the factory, but I am fairly certain that it exploded at one point (gashes in the original diff cover) and was replaced with an after market limited slip. I am not impressed with the 3.08's and will eventually change to something, but I haven't decided what yet. For right now I have a single glass pack on mine. Eventually I will have a full exhaust system put on it. The fuel sending unit on my passenger side tank was shot when I bought it and right now the tank is sitting until I get around to replacing the sending unit and putting it back on the truck. Man, on anything other than around town I really miss having that second tank.
I saw your post on the restored manifolds and they looked nice. Mine had one small crack with I did my best to temporarily fix. I can't decide if I want to put headers on it or buy some new manifolds. I had planned on putting everything back to the way it was off the showroom floor, but I look around and see all these mods others have done and I keep wavering on keeping it stock.
You have a beautiful truck man.

Re: my 87

nice, yeah mine actually doesn't have the g80 option it's a loaded truck minus the g80 locking rear (kidna glad it doesn't have it honestly)

it also lacks the skid plate, dual shocks, and tow hooks.

Re: my 87

I have the dual shocks and tow hooks but not sure on the skid plate.....where is that located? I had my dash out a couple days ago and noticed something I hadn't before. It almost looks like a second layer has been put on it. When you look at the underside of it you can see that what looks like a second layer is on there that doesn't cover as much as the bottom layer. Is this normal or has it been repaired at one time? I thought it was all original, but now I am wondering.
Man, that last picture you posted of her....the side view.....WOW! That is a gorgeous truck!

I would not have sold it either. I would have asked him "show me what on this lot can be bought for that $10,000.00? Park em side by side.

We're lucky to live in the south where these babies survive! Couldn't imagine putting it on those salty roads up north.
