Truck bed mat

Since no one make a mat for our trucks I looked around and found that they make a horse stall mat that is 4’x6’x3/4 or 5/8 thick. I went and picked up 2 mats spent about a hour and voila a bed mat that fits perfectly. The box is exactly 6’ wide( long box) and just cutout wheel wells. Mat cost me $80.

Re: Truck bed mat

Those things are incredibly tough (and heavy!). I have had one in my truck bed for a few years and it's virtually like new. Didn't get two and line the entire bed floor, just one between the fenderwells and touching the front of the bed.

Re: Truck bed mat

I used a rechargeable circular saw for straight cuts and a large box cutter for the corners. The mat actually cuts pretty easy with the box cutter.

Re: Truck bed mat

The trick is to lube the box cutter with soap

Re: Truck bed mat

If you have a steel bed you'll want to avoid trapping moisture between the steel floor and the rubber mat. One 1/2'' or 3/8'' hole in each corner will do the trick. If there's a wood floor underneath, you can skip it.
Would one horse mat cover the back deck of a K/5?

Re: Truck bed mat

The bottom of the mats actually have hundreds of 1/4” dimples so air can get under. I will post a picture.

Re: Truck bed mat

The local Tractor Supply has them for 39.99 I was looking at them last night. I have had a mat made from conveyor belting from a local manufacture, but it has seen it better days. I have been considering one for my step side.

Re: Truck bed mat

I have not bought one yet because it measures 5" short and I don't need a 5'7" left over piece if I buy 2.
