Brake booster vacuum connection

I have a 71 c10 1/2 ton pickup that I am collecting my parts to add Power brakes. The question that I have is on the vacuum connection.
1) My carb port on the back of the stock carb is connected to my PCV valve on my passenger side valve cover.

2) the intake port behind the carb has fitting for a line running down to the
trans.

I was planning on running a "T" at the port opening on the carb. Would that harm the booster in anyway? The other option was run a "T" at the intake port but would that cause the Transmission to have problems?
