Valve cover script?

I have a set of valve covers with raised script logo...I'm wanting to paint the logo silver and the valve covers dark red....I can get vinyl script but only white and black...not silver...
If it comes to me having to paint the script should i----
paint silver 1st and then red.?...or red then the silver..?
It will be all rattle can paint and maybe rattle clear over it all...

I don't think using the vinyl logo for a paint pattern will work.....it's supposed to be very good stuff...this is from their ad...
(We use OEM quality, Avery brand high-grade calendared vinyl. This decal is WHITE)

I'm not very good at intricate taping either...so it'll be a challenge...
If I could get them in silver I'd just use the decals...I've got a email request to the seller about doing it in silver..but no response yet

Re: Valve cover script?

Greg, went thru that very same thing some time ago. I ordered the Chevrolet script stencil from Eckler's in Florida. Used to be Classic Chevy before Eckler's bought them out. I removed the stenciled letters and laid the stencil body over the script after I had painted the valve cover Chevrolet Orange. Used some lead wheel weights to hold the paper stencil down tight to the valve cover. Sprayed with rattle can silver several light coats as with silver paint too heavy a coating and it tends to sag and run. Let me know if you need some pics to help show how I did it. Turned out great, much better than me trying to free hand paint the lettering.

Greg, found a pic of them after a search. " script valve covers" , pic of the final result which I think turned out pretty well.
