speedo cable leak
My speedo cable is leaking, 350 turbo. Any tips to make it stop?

I'm assuming your talking about the connection to the transmission? Probably the o ring on the "bullet". Others with more knowledge might have a different opinion.
Mine leaks a bit, and I plan to fix it when I change out the speedo gears to get the correct MPH, so I haven't done that job yet myself.

That will pretty much always be the cause - i.e. the cable isn't lubricated, per se, only way for oil to get in it is to leak onto it from the trans. Yes, external O-ring, but don't forget to make sure the inner seal is there too. Example pics below. Inner seal missing in right example in 2nd pic.

Don't let the gear slip out when you remove it. It will fall into the tailhousing and you have to take stuff apart to get it back.

Let me add, this is a new rebuild, zero feet on it. Never even cranked the engine. All I have done is add fluid.

Just kind of the nature of the beast. Talked to my builder numerous times about leaks and my brothers th400 has been up to him a few times for other items (full race, manual reverse VB, billet everything etc) but they have told me speedo leaks are SUPER common on 350's & 400's. Like said you can pull the little bullet out and replace the seals and o rings and see if that helps but lots of times the bore gets scored or just worn and they don't seal up real well. A small damp spot around it I wouldn't lose sleep over, but if you are dripping I'd suspect an o ring got rolled, missed, or torn installing it.
