looking to buy 71 custom grill

I wanted everyones input, I want a polished custom grill and i have seen some real sharp ones on youtube, I know all the truck parts suppliers sell the from $550-$750 but I have seen many online that are $150-$250?
anyone have a link to a reasonably priced one that is nice looking that you have bought and used or will I just need to buy the high dollar one? I think I want the one with thicker horizontal bars not the thin one but in the sales ads you can't compare them.

also any sources for something different, I thought about buying these highly polished ones with a lot of woven look like they use on a lot of late model trucks but no one seems to make them for a 67-72 I may have to make my own if I want great looks and different look too!

I am trying to make the same decision. I put a driver 70 model grill in truck but I am looking at my options to buy in the next few weeks.

Re: looking to buy 71 custom grill

I'd like to go back to a stock '70, but looking at repro prices that ain't gonna happen. It doesn't need to be pristine, anyway- it's a 49 year old truck. My FiL put a '71-'72 grill in it and I really don't like how the park/turn signal lights are mounted sideways. I could buy the metal and make a billet grill, but it would be easier to just buy one for $200. I'd need too much stuff to make the '70 billet grill, since I'm missing a lot of those parts, so I would just go with the '71-'72 billet grill. I'll be following along to see how things work out in the discussion.

AMD is making a chrome plated steel version for the 70s style. Its like 799 though. It looks really good.

I'm looking too. It will be among the last things I do though. My main focus now is to get her running. I'm still locating parts sites as I am going to slowly restore "conquistador"

You are talking about just the inserts? I would go with a carriage works brand insert or full frontal insert.

Re: looking to buy 71 custom grill

Yeah all the full grilles are really expensive because you are buying a full outer shell and the insert. This is the look I want. I hope who's ever truck this is, they don't mind me using it.

That's nice. I still have to replace my outer grill anyways. Previous owner hit something. Fender getting an amateur krylon touch

Re: looking to buy 71 custom grill

I am not a fan of custom grille's (Is it grill or grille, I don't F-ing know) I like the stock one's. But I have to say this one changes my opinion. It looks great.
