Talking Lifters!

A friend asked if I would post this question. He has an 85 with a 305. If it sits over night and he goes to start in the next morning several of the lifter will clatter until they pump up. The lifters are hydraulic and we have adjusted them several times in the past!

I am thinking it is time to replace the lifters?

Re: Talking Lifters!

1 of 3 things .

lifters are going bad = new cam AND lifters .

or rocker arm studs are pulling out of the heads and the adjustment is lost each time you re-adjust.

oil system is super duty with sludge and build up and making stuff take for even to get oil flow .
