Wiper motor and washer question for 1968 C10

Hello,
I removed the wiper motor and washer pump, seems the motor is cooked. I see the replacement motors available don't have anything on the shafts so I assume you use your old hardware. How can you remove the gear on the shaft that turns the washer pump? I've attached a photo to show what it looks like. Thanks for any advice.

I guess you would have to use a small puller. I have never bought a new wiper motor but I find it hard to believe it wouldn't be complete with the washer. Do you have a link to the wiper motor you are looking at?

Have you tested your Motor? Yours would be the 2 speed rectangular motor.....

Edit: Well, I just looked at a couple of motors on line and sure enough all there is is a shaft sticking out. Wow! I'm sure someone will have some ideas other than the puller for you then.

A simpler solution is add a electric pump to the truck and operate it from the switch. I have done both my trucks like this. The factory pumps are pretty much useless after a few years. I also added the wiper sprayers to wet the whole area down.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Wiper motor and washer question for 1968 C10

Thank you both for your replies. I did test the motor and it doesn't work, it can be turned by hand but it takes some effort. The pump tries to engage but since the gear isn't turning it can't do anything, interesting that it tries though. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to add a separate washer pump but I'm still curious how these come apart, some people probably like to keep everything looking original so there must be a way.

Re: Wiper motor and washer question for 1968 C10

I got my new motor today and tested it out of the truck and just had a quick question, is low speed and high speed opposite directions for the motor? I tested low speed first, it works, when I add the other jumper for high speed the motor changes direction, is that normal? Just want to make sure before I install...
