Rear Glass Installation

I need to get the convex glass installed in the two rear barn doors of my '51 panel truck. I was wondering if the Safelite-type mobile glass guys I see advertised on TV would handle something like this, or do they just do the production windshield replacements?

Re: Rear Glass Installation

I would consider a local auto glass guy. What town in OR are you located?

Call and ask, a lot of the younger glass techs only know how to do the glue in stuff. If the shop doesn't do that kind of work maybe they can refer a shop that does. Another option is doing it yourself, it's not all that difficult to do yourself with an extra set of hands and a couple special tools and foaming glass cleaner.

I guess I could try it first and if it doesn't work I could hire a pro.

Ha ha, that video said, "As with all glass installations, we highly recommend you hire a professional..."

I had to R&R my windshield after a "pro" messed it up. Honestly it wasn't that bad...
