325/80/16 on stock wheel?

Will a 325/80/16 fit a stock 8 lung wheel? Anyone put that size tire on a stock chevy 8 lug wheel?

They call for a skinny wheel so should work fine.

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

Wow! Never even heard of that size. Why did they stop calling them what they are so we know what size they are? How tall and how wide are they and who makes that size?

I'd imagine it's wide for a stock wheel since 285/75s are a bit wide and by the time you're at 325,even in the slightly taller/skinnier profile, they'd be wider.

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

Falken makes them. Falken wild peak. They measure 36.8". Im currently running 38" boggers and dont wan to mess them up on the street. Im looking for a tall A/T tire that will fit a stock 8 lug wheel...

How wide is this stock wheel you're referring to? 325 mm wide across the tread isn't exactly narrow. It's like a 13" wide tire. I hope the stockers you're running are 8" wide or so.

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

I was thinking it was the military tire, but since the tire is tall and skinny, a stock wheel will work. Or get 8" ones. I'm gonna have to check into these....

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

Isn't a 325 more like a 14.40? I'd want a 10-12" wheel for that. No way those will be right on a stock 6-7" wheel. Like I said,285s are about the limit. They should be on an 8" wheel. Those tires don't sound tall and skinny to me. I ran 14.50/37s for years and they are the same profile as a 12.50/35. I used 10" rims. Then,Super Swampers came out in 13/37s but I still ran those on 8"...last picture:

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

With a tire that tall it's really not gonna make that much of a difference...I'd run an 8" myself....

Re: 325/80/16 on stock wheel?

Whatever, I wouldn't. It will crown and wear in the center and be less stable being pinched in. I know tire manufacturers would recommend 10-12". It's the width that matters, not the height. But,with height comes more sidewall sway and safety is a concern. Either way, there is no 8" stock wheel in 16" anyway.
