Re: New 15x8 and 15x10 6 lug steelies ready to ship

This is great news, and it makes the steep price inte k5/10 wheels I’ve been hoarding drop like a rock . Ha. But I am very glad to hear it. Question: is it possible to get them just primered instead of pc? Most will likely want a different color than primer and it’s a good bit more cost/effort to get pc stripped so one can pc in their desired color tha. If they were just primered. Is the pc paintable at least? That’s something I’ve never seen so am interested in the details of the coating. Again, very glad to hear these are finally being reproduced. Great news.

Re: New 15x8 and 15x10 6 lug steelies ready to ship

I know trailer wheels have been available in 6-lug, but with three nubs I always wondered if they work with disc brakes. I see no mention of that here, so I assume they do work...correct?

I don't expect to see that happen, except for price gougers. The 8" originals have been steady at $400 a set for a good while and this new version doesn't beat that price. All the old wheels I sold were just as good as new. They aren't identical so the demand for the originals will remain for some people.

Jocko... double check those back spacings... the OEM 15x8 is 3.75... These are 4.25...

That is a problem on the 67 trucks...

Re: New 15x8 and 15x10 6 lug steelies ready to ship

The OEM 15x8 wheels were 4.25" backspacing. The original narrow wheels that came on the truck had less backspacing. When using these on my truck with 4.25" backspacing, I had to add to my steering stops to keep the inside of the rim from rubbing my lower control arm.

I am basing my statements on the 2 OEM Firestone wheels that are on the front of my truck... They are 3.75" BS...

I will be ordering 2 15x10 5 lug from you...

Re: New 15x8 and 15x10 6 lug steelies ready to ship

If installing these on static dropped 6-lug 2wd trucks (with drop spindles) I see some issues with that 4.25" backspace on the 7" and 8" wheels up front.
Normally a 4" BS is the max and that requires trimming the lower a-arms.

Any stock 2wd and 4x4 applications this will be a great new product.

You are mostly correct. The 7" are on my dropped 72 (5 lug) and I just built up my steering stop a bit so it didnt turn far enough to hit.

Will the dog dish hubcaps fit on these? If so, I'm really happy to see these for my 4x4

Yes they will... the 1/2 ton dog dish caps. They measure about 10.125 inches in diameter. Perfect for 4x4's

Well now I know why people kept saying contact Cooper about this style when it came up.

And I suppose I can stop hoarding them now

as mentioned in the add... They do fit factory style disc and drums. These are brand new American made wheels, not the old trailer wheels.

For years I wanted oe steel wheels, but could not justify paying crazy prices on 40+ yro wheels, bent, gouged, lug holes wallered paper thin. Sorry boys, This is the way to go for me. Why does this have to happen around the holidays?
