Stall Converter Suggestions
I have a 1985 short box, 350 flat top pistons, Vortec heads worked over, 4:10 rear axle, 750 vacuum Holley on an air gap intake. Cam card in photo. Right now I have a TCI super StreetFighter in a turbo 375 and it’s too loose. Transmission needs a rebuild and tranny guys are suggesting a 2500 stall. I want something tighter than the tci unit but I want to make sure it still works decent. Don’t want a dog on take off. Truck is street driven. Thx

Re: Stall Converter Suggestions
With that cam and the 4.10 gears I'd just go with a heavy duty stock convertor

Re: Stall Converter Suggestions
Picked up trans and converter today, they built the converter out of a 12”. Is that going to be very inefficient?

Re: Stall Converter Suggestions
What stall did they say it was ? What did you pay for it ? T375 will take either a 350 or 400 converter. 400 with a 350 output shaft.....

Re: Stall Converter Suggestions
Got it all back together, won’t even idle with that converter. Back to square one I guess.

Re: Stall Converter Suggestions
Fix your timing and it’ll idle no problem.
What’s your initial timing? |
