Cab Differences manual to auto

Does anyone know if a manual cab can be made to auto? Or can the pedals not be switched and the trans tunnel different? Once upon a time I though only the tunnel cover was different

Re: Cab Differences manual to auto

Most people tend to prefer auto transmissions and convert their trucks over to it.

The steering column and shift linkage are changed. As is the neutral safety switch and wiring for it. The clutch pedal is removed from the pedal assembly. Just a couple that come to mind. The drive shaft will be a different length. And the cross member for the transmission must be located in a different location. I went from a 3-speed to a 700R4 years ago.

As far as the Cab goes they are the same, on the Auto Cab GM put a small cover plate over the hole that the clutch rod comes out of, held in by screws. the pedal assemblies will interchange with a few bolts at the firewall and bottom side of the dash. all else is the same.

clultch pedal can be removed from the assembly. No need to get a different unit.
