Re: 84 grille

I have found trim for 87 and 88 blazers, all of it looks like mine. Also, on the grilles, can you get one that is chrome through the center? Just like to know before I order, thanks.

it's the chrome molding thats hard to find. I have and I'm currently rebuilding a few grilles. Is this the center molding that your referring too? If your meaning the grille itself, the answer is yes, there are a few places that have the grilles that take the chrome molding.

Re: 84 grille

this is the molding that does go in the center of the stock grille. My truck had a billet grille on it, from the PO. I wanted to go back to the stock grille. I had to find all the parts to put one together. Since then, I've been salvaging parts to rebuild grilles, since they are so hard to come by.

Here's a few pics of mine when I was putting it together. The center molding, I used vinyl tape. It seems that is what was used for the color.

83/84 grilles are the same. They share the trim.
85/86/87 grilles are the same. They share the trim.

85 trim will not fit 84 grille or vice versa.

The trim for 83/84 it's almost impossible to find. You can buy the trim for the bezels, but you can't find the trim for the grille. Maybe ebay or junk yard.

Good luck with project.

Re: 84 grille

Crap, I just noticed that now, the you have an 84 and mine's an 86. Here's an illustration of the grilles according to model year.

Can you post a pic of your grille that you have now? You could just change your grille to the 85-87 style.

I do have the 84 moldings, but the 84 moldings are different than the 85. The 83-84 moldings are narrow and the 85-87 are wider.

Sending PM also.

Re: 84 grille

Thanks. Been searching for them with no luck. Can't figure out why that's the only part of the grill that's discontinued

That's why I started rebuilding grilles. I found out how hard it was to get a grille together for my truck. I tried sending you a PM, but maybe you haven't set up one yet. But if your interested in a rebuilt grille, click on this link:

Re: 84 grille

I got an 84 and I still have all the moldings, do all the aftermarket grills accept a bowtie?

Yep, some do. You'll just have to read the description, because some don't. I have used Classic Industries and recently Summit Racing. Same aftermarket grille. I saved a ton, because I had a friend pick them up from the Summit Racing store, so I didn't have the crazy shipping charges. Rock Auto has them pretty cheap, but then the shipping makes them just as much as everyone else.

But if you have the 84 grille with the narrow center molding. I believe LMC is the only one that has the grill that accepts the bow tie.
