Re: TMI seats ....how are they

People say they're pricey, but by the time you have an upholsterer rebuild and recover a factory seat with quality components and do the same customization, it's not as far off. Another good point is they're all new seats, not rebuilt stuff.

As for comfort, I've only ridden in a couple, but they seemed to be very comfy and good quality.

Re: TMI seats ....how are they

I have a tmi bench seat in my 71 and it is pretty comfy. I don't have any long miles in the seat yet. They are very expensive but the seat looks great. I haven't seen any affordable upholstery shop turn out a seat like this. It looks like a seat you would see in a very high dollar build.

Re: TMI seats ....how are they

I am waiting on a TMI split bench from forum vendor ProPerformance. Mine are black with green/black houndstooth inserts. I ordered the door panels as well, with the same houndstooth inserts. I will post pics once they arrive. Pricey, yes, but once you consider the time and materials for a very good re-upholstery and cleaning up the frame, etc., it's pretty close.

This, with new foams and cover, and me still doing all the work, it was +/-$500 to rebuild my bench seat.

I have TMI seats in my mustang. I have about 8K miles of long 10-12+ hour days on the hot rod power tour driving in them, very comfy. I've also sat in their sample seats at shows before, they all felt pretty nice. Their "Sport R" seats are the comfy-est, but I don't like the look with the suede and chrome ring things.

Re: TMI seats ....how are they

I think they look a little weird with the wide raised center section ?, has anyone installed a set and run a center line down the steering wheel to see if they actually are centered with the wheel ? or are they just another generic "custom" seat ?

Re: TMI seats ....how are they

I seen one in a c/10 at a local car show here last year. The owner said it was very comfortable. He let me sit in and I thought it fit good and felt comfy.

If you don't mind me asking, what seat belt are you going to use with that seat Flipper? Can't wait to see a pic of that sitting in your truck. Thanks for posting!
