Mirror Upgrade Questions 2000 Silverado

I am interested in upgrading my mirrors on my 2000 Silverado 3 door. Can anyone tell me if I can add headed outside mirrors?? Can I just add the mirrors, plug in the wires and a switch?? Are all the wires there?

Second question. I also want to upgrade my interior review mirror to one with a compass (same truck). Are the wires there also??

What do I need???

Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Mirror Upgrade Questions 2000 Silverado

I would imagine it would not be that hard. You'd just need to run the wiring for the mirrors. Heck it may already be in the door's wiring harness.

I don't know what the harnesses are like, but if they are apart of the harness you should be able to plug in.

Not sure about the inside cab. I would imagine the wire harness for the inside mirror will have to be run. I did on on my 96, but I had to borrow the harness that ran from the mirror down thru the window post from the donor vehicle.

If you are getting them from a donor, I would gran every wire and thing I could in and make not of the connectins in the door and roof when disabling it.

Not much help, but good luck.
