72 C10 loss of power
I've got my 72 c10 running finally, now my issue is after about 10-15 minutes of driving she completely cuts out and loses all power. Won't start back up until roughly 10 minutes of sitting. The truck has been sitting for about a month since I was last stranded in the middle of nowhere with her and it died 5 seperate times on the way home. Fuel pump is working so it is getting fuel to the Carb. Has anybody else had this issue or similar issues and can shoot some ideas my way on getting her back on the road. Does have a new motor freshly rebuilt with 500 miles on it. I did put that mileage on it before this issue started. Thank you!

Bad coil. Gets hot build resistance opens winding's. Cools down after sitting and work's until it gets hot again. Could be one possibility. Or it could be loose wire contact doing the same thing. Or maybe a bad capacitor. Or if it is electronic ignition it could be a bad module.

The coil is a good bet.
That said, do you have a fuel filter in the inlet of the carb? The fuel pump working is one thing....clean fuel effectively getting into the carb is another. disconnect the fuel line at the carb and check this....and replace that filter if it looks bad. I have had trucks run fine for 15-20 minutes....sometimes a little more than that, then stall and die. The reason was the build up of crap in the carb fuel filter which would all rise and be pumped forward to the filter before finally plugging it. So the vehicle would start and run but after all the crap was pumped forward and up again....it would shut down, again. That is the simplest, cheapest place to start....probably $5 or less for a fuel filter. If the problem persists, then move on to the coil and check it, or have it checked. My two bits. Coley

Trouble shoot it when it will not start.
Strart with Spark then fuel You'll find the issue. -klb

Went and replaced the ignition coil and that was my issue! Thank you guys very much. I'm only 23 trying to learn how to Keep this truck running, it was a gift my the original owner my grandfather and it was our project until he passed away.
