That sign fits so Well on the Thread.

I hope to get with member A1971Blazer in the near future.
If he is onboard with this.
I have been wanting to send him a PM.
As Fellow Machinist.
I know he stays busy.

And see what I can do to help.

It takes time for the passing of a Loved one so Close.
He (Grumpy) would want to see his collection used in this Forum.
So, he could look from above and say

I have only a few family members left.
So with each loss ,I understand some of the suffering.
With this I would like to offer my help.

As much as I am available.

I am a few hours away.
I do have vacation days that I could use.

I have bought Many parts in the past and Grumpy used Donna's pay pal.

We communicated on a somewhat regular basis.

A1971Blazer I will send you a PM.

Thanks for reaching out...in her time I will help Ms Grumpy sort out the details and I know you're willing to help as well.
Times like these are when one realizes that this group is, in some sense of the word, "a family".

I told Mrs. Grumpy (Donna) of our experience with these doors.

I would be Crying if I typed the results.

I hope to see you at the show at Nashville/Lebanon racetrack again this year.

This is very disheartening to hear. My deepest condolences to Grumpy’s family. And may you Grumpy, rest in peace. Grumpy was a fixture around here who always offered a fun, witty interaction while sharing his volumes of knowledge. You will certainly be missed, but always remembered.

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

Im kind of late to the news, I haven't really been active on here other than my build thread so hearing this is very saddening. Grumpy Old Man was a huge staple of this forum - that is evident in the fact this thread is 5 pages of friends, and people who hadn't even met him (like me), just talked to him on the forum. I grew up on this forum, seeing his comments on nearly every thread it felt like. I'll never forget when he commented on my build thread, I thought "man, Ive made it!"
I can only hope for two things to come from my time here as an enthusiast;
1. be as knowledgeable as he was on these trucks
2. have as much an impact to have a multi-page thread when I go - what a tribute.

Rest easy, old (grumpy) man.

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

Oh no, it saddens me to hear this, I was just thinking about him and a promise I made him that I can never fulfill.

Grumps was the funniest &^)%. He struck me as a "tough guy" though a great big heart.

My condolences to those closest him, boy will this board miss him. RIP Grumps, and he'll build his next 67 in Heaven.

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

Well dang, I don't spend much time on this forum and summer gets really busy and I wasn't on here for a while. I was just reading another thread and noticed the bold letters of people gone at the bottom of special-K's post. RIP Grumpy old Man ??? What the heck ?? How did I miss a post about him ? I realized that wasn't long after I got a pair of '67 only headlight bezels from him on 4/10 and had asked about some other part, I can't remember right now, and never heard back.
Very sorry to see this. If he did pass on May 5th, that's the day I turned 71. Condolences to his family.
So, Rest in Peace, Grumpy...

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

Total bummer. He seemed like a pretty good dude with a lot of interesting ideas, and the skill to execute them. Never talked to him personally but certainly enjoyed his contributions to the site/truck community.

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

You know, each time an upholstery thread comes up or a 67 only thread, I just have this wierd feeling. This is when Grumpy should chime in and add his 2 cents. Only it was worth a lot more. He is missed. That's for sure.

Re: Heartbreaking news about Grumpy Old Man

Haven't dropped in for a while, and just by chance I noticed someone had a memorial in their signature line...with Grumpy in it!

He was definitely one of our resident gems here, and will be forever missed.
He eagerly passed along his knowledge, dropping nuggets along the way, and did so with wit and flair...

God bless you Grumpy, and Mrs. Grumpy too! Both in our prayers...
