Cool Re-pop Grill quality

I sent this one back and found out that they all come from the same supplier....I had a board member contact him and ask him to inspect one for these flaws before shipping. Guess what..he won't do it! Apparently he is aware of the problem and wants nothing to do with "this mess".

Wow...

BTW this is for 68-70 GMC's

Re: Re-pop Grill quality

Doesn't look like I can get a good re-pop so re-chrome mine or post a WTB thread.
Very disapointed.

Re: Re-pop Grill quality

I looked at the 67 GMC reproduction & didn’t like it. It looked cheap & not like "old" chrome. I have an original grille in for chroming & I weep when I think of the cost that’s going to hit me in a month or so... That said, to me, the grille on these GMC trucks is the centre piece on these trucks & is your first impression of the truck. I think a really nice grille makes the truck.

Re: Re-pop Grill quality

Thats a real disappointment, I've had my 1971 repop grill for about three years and I think it's first rate. I even have a NOS GMC grill that I haven't bothered to install since the repop looks every bit as good. ( i'm hanging on to the nos for my forthcoming accident)
Have you considered a latter model grill, just remove the paint?

Thats exactly what I think! I love the bad-ass, in your face wall of chrome front end on my GMC. I can't see putting a flawed re-pop piece of junk on a 8K paint job. Did you get a quote on yours and would you mind telling me what it was?

Hey Spoof. The 71-72's are stamped differently, flat in the center etc.
The one in the pics was painted like a 71-72 and the flaws were hidden by the paint, didn't see them good until I stripped it.
I posted a WTB thread so maybe someone has a good one...maybe even a re-pop without the wrinkles.
