I'm interested. Which manufacturer are you planning to buy from? Who makes the best top? Which top is the easiest to remove, easiest to install, least damaging to the vehicle, etc.?

Dito! I would like a soft top but not at the cost of drilling a bunch of holes in my truck!

If you blazer know it alls are looking for some TRICK soft tops.... you should check out the cover of 4 Wheel & Off Road... only took them a few years since the last time, but there's finally a 72 on the cover. Its worth buyying just for the SHORT article...

"covering the bed of the 72 is a custom soft top from can-back. rumor has it these will never be offered, but we're sure you blazer owners will be calling the folks at can-back trying to get them to change their minds"

IMO - my STC rail system top was well worth the $600. If i didnt have that, i wouldnt have a daily driver when it rained... further more, it'd be soaked everytime it rained 'cuz i dont garage it (71 CST). I throw up some pics when the new lift is under it, the new tires, the tail gates off, and the doors too probably... i'll even snap a shot of the top for you guys before i drop it too..... But, i've been back window-less since early march!!!!!

Heck with gas prices in PAC northwest - the $600 soft top probably payyed for its self over winter not having to have that 12398120301958123 pound double wall on anymore...

Medicanman71 - welcome to the board. Fill out your profile so we know where you are located. Several board members, including BobbyK, tried many times to get tops made by CanBack. He organized a group buy and was lead on by CanBack for over a year. They claimed that they were going to have a prototype shortly. He finally spoke with someone higher up in the organization who let him know that they were not working on or had any intentions of working on a prototype or production models for first generation blazers.

I have an old Kayline on my '69 and it is great. The sides and top roll up for a saffari top or the whole thing folds down into the bed. Right after purchasing my '72 last summer, I ordered a STC fastrack top. Unfortunately, it didn't arrive before the summer was over so it is still brand new and in the box waiting to go on this year.

Be warned, STC manufactures these tops to order so it can take several months to ship once you have ordered it. If you want one for this summer, you should order asap. I'm sure as order numbers go up, the manufacturing times increase too.

haha - i called them up at the end of summer, actually around oct... i was weeks away from rain here in nor cal.... The guy said "let me check" - went back, and found out that i was getting the LAST pre-made black top w/ dark tint windows.... the others left i guess were others colors, or had the clear windows.... i asked him how long it would take to get to me, that's when he checked.... he said i lucked out and i did, it got to me with in a week... a week after that i was on the blazer, and not more then a week or two past that the skys opened up for winter.... talk about timing. so, ya think i shut you out? heh. He told me on the phone if i wasnt getting the one i was - it'd take a while for him to make one... and i woulda been left in the rain..... of course i had already sold the hard top by then to offset the price

hmm so if some of you have been asking for over a year/years..... i guess he blew ya off or something, the one in off road mag. looks pretty recent..., but like i said it said - they wont make one again..... hmmmmm

If you find a soft top, I am VERY interested in one. I have no desire to lift that double wall top off and on whenever I want to have some fun in the sun.
