I will try that....makes sense that the struck metal would have to compress somewhat, and be more dense, even if very slightly. In the right light & with some sanding or fine steel wool I should be able to make something out.

The truck is a 1950, but has doors from at least a 51, door handles from at least a 53, bendix brakes that changed in 54 I think, and a rear bumper with the flat spot from at least a 54......wish I knew just how many other 47-55 trucks were donors to this one before I got it in 1980.
