Fabricated LS Intake
Will a drive by wire throttle body off of a truck intake work on a fabricated intake such as a Velocity? Wanting to pull the truck intake off my 5.3 and clean it up with a fabricated intake.

Re: Fabricated LS Intake
at those prices I would call them to verify...the velocity I just pulled up say 102mm throttle....I think my throttle is 78mm 3 bolt..

Re: Fabricated LS Intake
A sheetmetal intake will not benefit a stockish motor. You'll sacrifice velocity in favor of flow, and it'll end up feeling slower. Torque will be lower, powerband will increase but without a significant head you'll never actually see it benefit.
Most of the fabbed intakes will want at least the 92mm throttle body, many will want a 98,102, or the NW105. I'd also caution anyone on budget sheetmetal intakes. Most are rebranded versions of an overseas made part retailed by VsI (an industry-only parts wholesaler). The offering from Velocity bears similarity to those. I haven't held it in hand to know for sure.
