Re: Rare condition? ......really?.....

When I went to hearing doc he told me I have trouble hearing women due to high octave hearing loss, my wife thought it was funny too.

Re: Rare condition? ......really?.....

Much more common in men is the deafness that matches the wife's speaking range. Once the pitch and volume go up enough, then they hear it.

Re: Rare condition? ......really?.....

With many years of experience my selective hearing works just fine, even when sitting right next to my wife.

Re: Rare condition? ......really?.....

OMGosh I might have that! I remember very little of what my GF says.

Our problem is her accent is so heavy I understand very little. I just say "OK" a lot until she notices and then yells into the phone.

Clearly we are "marriage material."

Re: Rare condition? ......really?.....

The key difference here is hearing what is said or listening to what is said. Find one that will listen and that is truly rare.
