Post Cost on rechroming?

I am going to get my truck repainted within the next month or two and I was wondering how much the cost would be to rechrome my door handles. They are in decent shape other than some of the chrome flaked off. This truck is a daily driver and I looked at the cost for new handles and I just can't see paying that since mine are in good shape mechanically. I even though of painting them but I don't think the paint will hold up to constant hanle grabbing. Any thoughts on this and If rechroming was an econominal solution, where would I get it done? Yellow pages don't help in this area.

Thanks, Dave

While I do not have any costs for you, the chances are, you'll be better off getting new items. THe feds have made the chrome dipping guys out to be evil. The chemicles they use are pretty nasty.

Here in Dayton, Ohio, it cost me $1,000 to have my grill, top bar, headlight bezels, and fender tips rechromed on my 70 GMC. Bit the bullet and had them done, as at that time, nothing aftermarket was available. Wish now, I would've waited.

How much, on average, to rechrome a bumper?
Anybody know a good shop in Dallas to do it?
