Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

Does anyone know if "HEAVY DUTY AUX SEAT" stands for utility buckets ?

Also, Does anyone know if the utility bucket bracket floor bolt pattern is different from the sport bucket bracket floor bolt pattern ?

Thanks

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

I will wing it, but i believe that option is the utility buckets.
I think they bolt up different, but wonder if there is another set of holes in the floor for either style?
Subbed in for more info...

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

This Blazer looks to be a non-CST 1971 example and therefore should have utility buckets. I recall another related thread or two where utility buckets were said to have a different bolt pattern. Dwayne may have some good input on bolt pattern differences.

RPO-A50 denotes sport bucket seats.

FWIW I’ve yet to see a 72 K5 with utility buckets. They all seemed to use sport buckets with the CSTs getting an upgraded vinyl (or plaid).

Thanks Pete. We just eyeballed a utility bucket Blazer & a sport bucket Blazer.
Definite difference. No exact measure but the bolt pattern for the utility is about 2" longer.

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

Several years ago I pulled the carpet out of my Jimmy and discovered another set of mounting holes a few inches behind the ones used for the sport seats. They certainly looked 'factory', and I used them to actually just move my seat back a few inches for more legroom. Here is the post from back then with a picture and some other discussions....

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

That is correct, utility tracks are longer and yes some blazers come with both previsions but could count on one hand how many I've seen that way.

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

These were used by the USPS to deliver mail. There may be other reasons for the passenger seat delete.

Re: Blazer/Jimmy Sport Bucket vs Utility Bucket Question

As plain as those utility buckets look, I would rather sit on them for 8 hours that some of the new car seats. I love mine.
