anyone have detailed pics of original emblems?

i need to know what color they were. i have most of them but they're faded, so until i canbuy new ones, i'd like to paint these. i need to see CST emblems that are on the doors and the glove box door and the 8 |350 one and any others that would be on a 72 CST 4x4

Re: anyone have detailed pics of original emblems?

i was able to clean my up to a nice shine with some dish soap and a tooth brush. It gets all the corners and stuff. I tried to repaint my CST emblems, looked ok but not good enough so I ordered some from GMC Paul's.

I just picked up some 69 NOS blazer emblems on ebay......... price though

Re: anyone have detailed pics of original emblems?

The CST emblems on the door are cream/ivory and satin black. I painted black part with satin black rustoleum. I used a clay bar for cleaning up the paint on the CST letters. You can get the clay bar from www.griotsgarage.com or Pep Boys. Pep Boys sells Mothers brand claybar. Griots gives you more clay and a container to keep it in when not in use but it is more costly.

I used the claybar on the entire truck before waxing it. You should have seen the amount of black stuff that was removed from the paint. It shows up on the clay bar. If you have never used a clay bar, I suggest you use one on your car or truck before you wax it. Your paint will look and feel like new- if it's in decent shape already.

Anyway, I used the clay bar on the emblems and and it worked well for me. I will take some pics of the CST emblems and post them. I only did one side, so I can show you the before and after.

Re: anyone have detailed pics of original emblems?

I'll get the pictures up on Saturday... sorry for the delay. I repainted my "8 350" emblems with the satin rustoleum after I ran them through the dish washer. They turned out awesome too.

Yeah, that's it. I thought my emblem was beat up and was going to paint it white... I'm glad I did not. Here is brand new emblem in Brothers website.

I'll get the my pics up... but these will do until tommorow.

Re: anyone have detailed pics of original emblems?

Attached are photos taken this afternoon. The first and third image are of the original passenger side CST emblem. The second and fourth are pictures of the drivers side CST emblem, which I restored two years ago. If you need more detailed pictures, let me know. I can take more.
